How can I get Santander to stamp a online statement?

Barclays offer the option of having statements printed in branch or ordered copy statements to be "digitally stamped", meaning each statement page is produced with a small text box overlaid explaining that the statement has been generated through secure channels and is equivalent to an original statement. This is, theoretically at least, HMRC compliant. Plenty of people still request to have the branch stamp added to each page though.
[edit] That helps the OP not one jot, naturally. I would say go back to the branch, explain the situation, and make it clear that it's their duty of care to you as your sole bank to provide statements on request as this will have severe ramifications for you.
The suggestion of ordering duplicate statements is a potential solution but depending on Santander's procedures, what they send may well just be identical to an online statement you could have printed yourself. Worth checking with customer services exactly what will arrive and if any kind of stamp/certification is possible at the point the statements are generated.: )0 -
I work with international students and have heard similar stories. At one point I actually had to phone Santander and explain why the student needed this.
Bank of Scotland and TSB seem to be fine with this, especially branches near a university. RBS is hit and miss, some branches are okay, others not. Both Bank of Scotland and TSB seem to be fine with you either printing the statements and bringing them in to be stamped, or doing it for you. So, once this is sorted, I'd switch your account.
Take a print out of the Home Office guidelines to the branch and show them it, and say this is what you need. If they still refuse, insist on speaking to a manager, or go to a larger branch, or one near a university.
The other thing you can ask for is a letter from the bank confirming the same details (name, address, account details, minimum balance over 28 days etc). UKVI should accept a letter in liu of a bank statement as long as it confirms all the information required - if they do this read it carefully. I've seen letters only confirming the balance at the date the letter was written, it must say it has not dropped below (required amount) for the last 28 days.

Did you ever get anywhere with this?
I also need statements for a visa application.
Seems like the best is to order duplicate copies.
UKVI really need to update their side if banks are no longer willing to stamp.0 -
Online statements are a huge pain in the back side in situations like this. I needed proof of name and address recently luckily natwest can print statements in branch which include your name and address.
Yes, with no charge. NatWest gets something right!
"Great news! If you use Online Banking with paperless statements, and you need paper copies as evidence of your identity or income, we can arrange to send some to you free of charge. You can ask for up to 3 months of paper statements twice in a 12 month period. To order, please chat to our Online Banking team, or you can visit a branch."

You can ask them to print the statements for you in-branch. It's a service that they do offer even if the cashier is reluctant to do it/say that they don't. Just be persistent as they will print the statements and stamp them for you or otherwise, they'll be printed out with a "stamp" that says it's certified as a true copy of the original, which is acceptable for Home Office purposes.Debt Totals July 2019::

Also, I highly doubt that not providing bank statements will result in your deportation. Don't panic. It will be fine.Debt Totals July 2019::

Bank statements are mandatory for some types of visa / LTR application, not providing them will result in refusal.
He said the application was for permanent residence, for which bank statements are not mandatory. In any event, even if he is refused for not providing bank statements (which he would not for permanent residence applications), he has the right to appeal.Debt Totals July 2019::
