Banks that are picky when it comes to opening current accounts?

I have found in the past both with myself and others that I speak to that HSBC/First Direct are very choosy with who they decide to offer an account to.
Barclays seem to be easy for a basic current account but quite picky with the full current account.
Nationwide and Starling Bank are very easy to open accounts with from experience.

The problem being without knowing anyone’s full circumstances it will only ever be an untested guide but in my experience first Direct out of most banks I’ve applied too over 5 years are the only one to decline me.
I have a HSBC current account so was surprised when FD said no, one switching bonus missed.

So we can help people out who are looking to open account so they know which banks to avoid potentially?
Unhelpful post.
I'm not really sure how helpful your thread is though... Yesterday you started a thread claiming Barclays aren't worth opening an account with. Today you've started two threads, this one which seems to suggest Barclays are good as they're easy to open an account with and another one where you say you aspire to open a Premier account with, er, Barclays.
You're not being very consistent! On your 'why bank with barclays?' thread you've not even replied to those who've responded to you. who are mostly pointing out the advantages of Barclays.
There's someone else who posts on the forum who promotes Barclays in a roundabout way - and, apparently, he works for them. You're not related are you?0 -
I'm just wondering if this smacks of spam! Thread doesn't seem to be that constructive, in fact I was surprised it didn't have a poll at the start!!.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I'm surprised everyone says 1st Direct are choosy...my credit file was poor, still is poor and that's data based as opposed the Number lol
First direct gave me an account when my credit file was worse than it is now,and a credit card and id been hammering the switches plus opening other credit cards...maybe i was plain lucky.
Lucky with M&S bank and HSBC just recently....oh well maybe winning the lottery last year helped..lol0 -

Nor any of the OPs other threads. The forum is attracting plenty of spammers lately.0 -
I suspect cardi_b has several alter egos, at least one of which has a famous girlfriend, access to private jets etc etc :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
