Last time I had brake pipe corrosion fail an MOT on a 3-Series, my local garage replaced both front to rear pipes and one rear side pipe for £90.0

Copper piping which places nowadays tend to use is pretty damn cheap. Can t see how they've come up with a quote like that. Pipes aren't a hard job. A bit fiddly, especially if going over axles. If they run above the duel tank then can possibly add another hour of labour. But usually you'd just replace the crappier sections rather than whole lines and if going over axles etc put a connection in to make it easier.
Really can't see how they have come to a quote like that unless they don't want the work!
Take it to another garage for a quote. Id be surprised if it even came to a quarter that0 -
Sounds outrageous to me. I had a replacement brake pipe on my Jazz last year ....hardware was £13.0 , labour cost was hidden in with that for a service but can't have been more than £20. Say max. £35 total cost.0

Is that a main dealer? Ridiculous quote for just replacing the brake lines, is there nothing else they have included in that price?0
-
They are probably quoting for replacing with the manufacturers steel pipe parts hence a lot of dimantling needed to fit them in. As has been said if you use copper/cunifer then they can be bent and made on the job; also re-routed if necessary which can save the dismantling.
Go to an independent garage and get another quote.0 -
£900? I'd expect to replace the entire braking system including discs, pads, calipers, servo, master cylinder and flexi-hoses for that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I guess this is them telling you to go else places as its a job they may not want.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
