Small Claims Court Query

Hi Guys,
I am after some advice regarding the small claims court.
I am currently having an issue with a contractor I hired to tile my kitchen.
He only finished half the job and on the day he was meant to return he text saying he's too busy to come back and will give me £50 back.
I hired a new Tiler for £75 and the previous Tiler said he would refund the £75 back.
This was in November. I've just text and rang him and it seems he's blocked my number.
I appreciate the sum is quite small but it seems the contractor in question feels he can do this.
Would this be something that I can pursue through the small claims court?
I have all texts from said contractor and the original invoice
Many thanks in advance.

Yes, this is absolutely something you could pursue through small claims court.
It is very easy to do - you simply file a claim on moneyclaimonline.
There will be fees, but you should ultimately get them back from the contractor if you win a case.
Before filing a claim, make sure you send a 'formal letter before action' clearly stating that the contractor has 14 days to refund you, and that a court claim will be issued if the contractor does not arrange payment within the 14 days.0 -
You could pursue it through small claims if you wanted.
You should send a 'letter before action' first giving a deadline to pay

Did you get a quote or estimate from the contractor prior to engaging him? If yes then the company listed on the quote/estimate is probably who you address the LBA to and take to court. (You need to file a claim against the correct party).0

Yes I got a quote but on a quick search on the internet the company has two addresses listed0
