Its free to upgrade from Basic to a Reward Acct so if you qualify for the £3pm reward why would you not do it?
  • What have you got to lose?

But doesn't it cost you so much a month for the reward one?

No its free. There are other acct which have a charge though.
  • Halifax have actually stopped offering new “current accounts”. The reward account is now their standard current account and is FoC but you need to meet all the requirements to get the £3/month.

The reward ultimate account is a packaged account and comes with other perks eg travel insurance and costs £15/month (or £12 if you meet the same requirements for the £3/month reward)

Halifax only have one current account that doesn't have a monthly fee, you qualify for the reward if you fund the account with £750 and pay out 2 DD each month, if not no reward.

As a historical account holder you can keep your current account but if its worth upgrading depends on if you qualify for the reward payment.
