Anyone with experience in how fast Maternity Allowance is processed?

Options
Fully understand that DWP suggest Maternity Allowance claims should be processed with 24 working days so I'm not expecting anything realistically until the middle of February but the initial contact with them seems to have gone quite quickly.

Sent paperwork recorded delivery 1st class Wednesday afternoon, Friday I got a text from DWP to let me know my claim had been received and Saturday morning my pay slips were returned by recorded post as well.

My circumstances regarding the claim are quite straightforward.

Has anyone recently applied and gained the benefit faster than 24 working days?

Most likely it's because no one has an answer for you. As you've been told 24 working days then that's what it is. DWP say a time frame but that's only a guide. As you said you're not expecting anything until mid February, then what's the problem?

No problem. Just wondered if it often gets done sooner.
