I know I pay for fees and interest on the OD.

Neither of which are PPI. Most banks didnt offer it on overdrafts. Where it was available, it showed as a debit on your statement.

...and why do you think that these might be somehow reclaimable? You pay for an overdraft.

I don't, but why is someone asking for my paying-in bank details because of a claim that has been accepted and was a very busy call-centre? What can gain he gain from an account number and sort code?

If you truly don't know, then I recommend you do some research about keeping your bank account secure.

Thanks for the link, but it doesn't state the dangers of giving sort code and/or account number.

I know the long card number is the one to avoid; the caller wasn't asking for that.
  • Best advice is don't give ANY bank account details at all to random cold callers.

Just had another call from them, I asked for their details and address. Checks out, they're a PPI firm:

    Still dubious.

You need to check on your old statements or with your bank whether you ever had PPI. If you did (and it's quite a big if) you can use the templates on here to make a claim yourself if you feel it was missold - not all PPI was.

If you do have a claim you don't need a firm out on a fishing expedition doing it for you.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
