It all depends on solicitors. Mins has been on the ball, but my sellers has been horrendous. All offers accepted in November and my sale all ready to go since mid December yet my onward purchase and the last house in the small chain has been slow as their solicitor is an idiot and ignores everything. I'm hoping to exchange next week and complete the second week of Feb at the moment otherwise I fear my buyer may start to grumble and threaten to pull out...0

We expected ours to be simple and within a couple of months. No chain apart from us and vendors who moved out during the process. We were ready to move ASAP. But the solicitors on both sides took ages for what was a very simple uncomplicated sale. By week 8/9 I was contacting solicitors to chase them every few days ( by this point they were dealing with enquiries which when we received I’ve no idea why it took so long!) and by 12 we exchanged/completed. It’s never predictable!0
