Should I be concerned

I sold an item on ebay and the auction ended on the 20/05. the buyer contacted me on the 22/05 to advise his paypal was goosed and he would use a frinds paypal to pay if that was alright. This struck me as oddd but i agreed.

Today I have received an email advising, please send me your address my pc has gone belly and I have lost all my mails and previous details I had.

Why does he need this info, he still has access to ebay and has my email address?

This seems a little odd, should i give him the details or just cancel the sale?

Tia

I would be a little wary just in case this is a third party.

The one way round it would be to tell the person that you have sent a second invoice, then log into ebay and send them a reminder, which triggers this invoice. That invoice would obviously go to the person whose email was registered with ebay, if they can't receive that then they are not who they say they are.

ASk him to send a cheque or postal orders if you are concerned about him using someone elses paypal.
I do agree with you about your details he should be able to get them from items won in his ebay but he might be a newbie

  • Do not accept a payment from anyone elses paypal account. I had it done to me and paypal seized the funds from my account 3 weeks later. You will not be covered by the paypal seller protection.

you could suggest he does a bank transfer, or walks into any branch of your bank with a wodge of cash and pays in

give him your account number and sort code and account name, he needs nothing else

costs him and you nothing, and you can wait a few days for it to show and it can not be reversed!

offer him a small discount to do it this way, that way if he's genuine he will take up the offer, if he's not he'll kick up a !!!!
(by small discount, something like a fiver off £100 quid or something, as paypal would cost you WAAAAAAY more than that anyway)
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
