Cancelling a Switch

I am trying to help my S-in-L, who has recently lost her husband. Currently Gas & Electric are different suppliers, one of which was fixed until the end of Feb.

We selected one to change to from the MSE Energy Club, I had to do this on my phone as she has no internet, nor anything which connects, nor does she want anything.

When the paperwork came through to an email address I had for her, she is currently awaiting Cataract op, so vision is limited. She wishes to continue with quarterly payments, and to be able to get paper bills and pay them at the post office. I have explained how much she will save if she goes to monthly DD, but not interested, the change was for online bills, not an opton. So have run up and cancelled the change.

There is no option on the Energy Saving Site to state paper bills, which would have been good. Also how long after ringing up and cancelling the move, can you go on a do a different change?

Due to her eyesight I was trying to get her with a big supplies who will fit a Smart Meter, as she is not able to read it and has to wait for someone to call and read it.

Any suggestions, strangling not an option!

By cancelling, presumably you mean you have done this within the cooling off period?
If so, then I can see no reason why you are not free to immediately contact any new supplier and ask to switch to them.

The CEC allows you to filter results to only show "Quarterly Cash or Cheque" payment option. Most suppliers cater for paper billing under this scenario, but carefully check the terms of any small supplier to ensure they will, and whichever supplier is chosen, ensure the cost of paper billing is included in the price quoted (some tariffs are inclusive, but some charge extra for paper billing)

Once you have chosen the supplier, if you want to double check if paper billing is available, ask again here:)

Edit: The other possibility may be to use one of the comparison sites MSE Martin recommends, and phone them up with with exact details of what is required (i.e quarterly billing, paper bills), and you may then possibly get some cashback too
Beware, if you call a price comparison site, they usually will only tell you about suppliers and tariffs they can switch you to, not the whole of market.

Yes it was only Friday to today, so within the cooling off period.
