KonMari 2018 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Another trip to the tip today, the car fully loaded with bags of garden waste, it was very quiet there at the time we arrived and the nice man helped unload. Green bin is already half full and not collected until next Tuesday, I need to ask nice neighbour a few doors away if he could put it out for us as we will be away.
I noticed this evening that the Solomon's Seal plant was covered in caterpillars and a few leaves were just skeletons:( I took great pleasure in blasting them with the hose, don't suppose it has killed the little blighters, but they will have a long wet crawl back up again:rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Didnt manage to finish off ironing, as stopped once bedding was ironed for spare room, all freshly made up now. Had in mind to complete ironing - but never happened tonight.
Busy am tomorrow, up, shower, wash hair, get ready for work, breakfast, parcel up 3 items to post, make lunch for work, buy birthday card and thats all before I get to work.
After work - ironing, change bed and look at drawers with towels in them - in the hope I can reduce to 1 drawer. The onto top shelf in wardrobe with my bedding, im sure there is treasures there I have forgotten about.
Have a few T shirts to go, in fact most of them, will count them all tomorrow,Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Everyone has been so busy. I love reading what is going on!
We have been at Mum's, sorting out dad's things. Much has been given to my brother and some friends. 6 bags to CS. My DH took 2 bulky fleeces and a couple of shirts.
I have vac-packed the fleeces this morning
While I was at it I vac-packed a 9 tog duvet, 3 fleeces of my own and a lovely snood.
All the packs fit on the stairhead, where the bulky sunlounger had been.
Given the fab weather the other sunlounger is being used daily and is currently folded but taking up space in my LR because it is too big to lift upstairs daily and we have no other storage place
I am off work today but we are going to FIL's 80th birthday this afto/evening so I must get on and do some chores. Work tomorrow and Thurs, then mum is staying for a week so i shall be cook, chauffeur, social sec, etc. Payback time for when I was a kid, i guess! I think we shall have fun. I doubt there will be much kondo-ing, we shall be too busy playing outI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Parents and husband have decided which pillows they want to use, so the other 5 have gone into the attic for donation.
The winter duvets have been aired and put into a large carrier bag and are in the attic for next winter.
DD2 had many clothes to try on (castoffs from friends and colleagues), which she had diligently done for 3 nights, and then left it. I sneaked 4 dresses and a couple of shirts she wanted to keep into the attic, because I think they are either too old, too large still, faded, etc. There are so many 'new' clothes in her wardrobe that I don't think she'll notice. The three piles of clothes that she didn't get round to fitting, I returned to the attic. She has enough.
My lovely black Jaeger work shirt is in the attic for donation. I really like it, and it fits nicely, apart from being too shortI decided I was tired of the shirt popping out of my trousers or skirt all the time and that it was time to let it go.
I have resolved to handle the work situation today; I was crying in the work bathroom for 30 minutes yesterday, and that is definitely not me. I hate the 'P' in 'PA' (Personal Assistant); I have had a PA job before, and picked this one because it had no 'P'. I will finish the one 'P' task I have left (handle visa requests for her husband and 3 kids to travel to China this summer on vacation ....), and tell my boss to hire a proper PA and let me do my Admin work. Husband has my back, after I explained the problems to him yesterday, so that feels good. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Siebrie that's a bit TOO personal even for me when I was a PA. Work visas, dry cleaning, lease car sourcing & maintenance, rebook the odd hair appointment (best ever lady boss), but never anything to do with holidays.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi Floss, exactly. Sourcing a nanny service, buying a roll of bin liners when I'm in the supermarket and boss is really pressed for time (the previous boss was a single mum to 3), booking a restaurant she decided on for a private dinner engagement - all no problem (although the restaurant would be in the grey area). But private visas for a vacation trip? Hmmm. And then counter the info the visa centre gave me with some info a local agent gave you? Hmmm. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

Oh gawd.....could I use a good PA right now.....:rotfl:
I'm never moving House again....till the next time.;)
Not much kondoing this week, unless the garden counts. Weeding, clearing, shrub pruning and taking cuttings of some of my favourite plants for the new garden.
The big declutter, sorting and prepacking starts in earnest next week.0 -
What's the countdown to Moving Day, lessonlearned? If you need to come here for tips and/or to vent, you know we have your back.
Speaking of backs, mine is aching from the gardening. Was up there for nearly three hours yesterday smacking huge clumps of turf against the times of the fork to loosen the soil. Although the sun had done a lot of the work for me, since these were chopped out of the Plot2 prairie on Sunday morning.
Plenty more work to do and plenty more trash to excavate. I can see a lot of plastic already, plus glass and nails. Did some pre-prep for the removal of The Item on Monday coming, pretty pleased that its on its way outta there.
Things are looking a bit better at the homestead, I can actually see the tabletop and the sofa, which isn't usually the case. I must invite SuperGran over to see Relative Tidiness (she's something of a minimimalist/neat freak) and always manages to catch me in a muddle.
Will be at the family home for a day or so this week and some sorting out will be done, as well as some plain living (chatting, drinking tea, sitting in the front garden petting the cats etc etc).Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ, you are being mind over body matter
My study/craft space is going too slowly, I am a bit stuck. I have wrapped 3 parcels, selling excess craft things but paypal is not allowing me to add an account to get the money out. Grhhh
The wires are next and the computer, printer stuff. I have been putting labels on several plugs in the house I use a brother label printer. I`ll see what I can do in that room, will try to get order from a wire jumble in a box. I find all these wires daunting. I have drawers full in my living room and they have had 2 passes0 -
That is a good idea, Kittie. We have a new upright battery operated hoover, and I have mislaid the charger
Being so new, I do not recognise it in a bundle of wires, so that will be my task for today: collect all chargers and label them in some way.
