How do I silicone around the back of these bath taps?

Got a bit of a damp patch on my hall ceiling....directly under bath taps. Pretty sure the water is getting in through the gaps between the taps and the bath. I had a go at siliconing around there last year but the gap at the back is so narrow that i cannot angle the silicone gun at all (see pic).

How do you silicone around the back of that tap? Also how do you cut out the old silicone before resiliconing? The shower is directly above these taps and they get drenched each time. Any other solutions welcome?
