Insuring new mobile while awaiting result of a claim

Hi folks
This might be a silly question but wanted to make sure - my iPhone 6 (insured by Insurance2go) was water damaged during the week and stopped working. I've sent in a claim form and I'm currently awaiting the results of this.
In the mean time I needed to have a phone for work so I've purchased a Samsung Galaxy S8 - I want to make sure it is insured before going to work tomorrow but my question is, can I insure another phone while awaiting the outcome of a claim? Was tempted to just go with Insurance2go again although it might make more sense to see how the claim goes! Thinking in terms of the fact that the form might ask if I've ever claimed on a mobile phone policy - the answer to that question would I think be neither yes or no surely (since I have sent in a claim form but it hasn't been approved yet?).
Any help much appreciated - bit nervous about the idea of going to work tomorrow without it insured but want to ensure I don't make any errors which cause issues/invalidate the insurance.
Incidentally any thoughts on which insurer much appreciated - the excess for Insurance2go seems a bit more than others (£75 compared to £50 with other providers like Protect My Bubble)?
