I have just left tesco and i worked in the clothing department, we had x2 30min breaks throughout the night shift, I worked along with the rest of the team very hard.i have done refits in tesco, sainsburys etc and i can confirm most of them do nothing throughout the night other than go for breaks every 30mins0 -
Hello maria932, i am looking to change jobs and wondering about becoming a backroom boy for a supermarket i`ve worked in transport despatching years ago when i worked in industry
so had some customer experience
Are tescos paid monthly for night work?
The rates would be better than i`m on at the mo (above min wage at the mo aswell
any info or tips on how you approach the shops or do you just ask in store for an app form at customer services ??
Regards M

Tesco pay 4 weekly, you get a card giving you 10% off purchases after 12 months, just ask at Customer service if they have vacancies, they tend to have pretty high turnover in my area"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I worked nights in an Asda store in Bucks from last december to april this year. Cant remember exact rate, but it was around about £8.15 an hour.
We were actually worked quite hard, and I was ready for bed at the end of a shift, often needing to work past my finish time to get the aisle complete (admittedly we were always understaffed, but still...)0 -
Hello Wings, what sort of Jobs are done at night ? is this mainly involved in stock replenishment /updating ?
Also the pay is pretty good what sort of hours are offered was this on a rota system ie worked 1 weekend a month or whatever.
Thanks for any info,i really fancy doing this even if its only on a temp basis,i am working at the moment part time during the early morning and late afternoon.

At my store all the night colleagues all do 10 - 6, and it is all replenishment. You're supossed to work either a sat or sun, although sometimes you can get a rota where you only do a weekend every other week. I think it depends on what the managers are like. We've just got a new store manager who is really clamping down on making sure the weekend rule applies, and he regularly does a night shift to see whats going on.0 -
Hell emay, thanks for the heads up,i also take it the eight hours is for the week 5 nights? and as explained to cover for weekend opening,i`ve done nights a long time ago >10years and this would mean packing in my Morning job to do the nights

Also weekends wouldnt bother me now the kids are bigger
I have been listening and watching Dave Ramsey on youtube who has inspired me to seek further means of income,i`m in debt but not seriously so and can keep up the payments.
My plan is to pay off these asap and more cash flow will help me do this sooner thus saving interest on them as well i need to grow my snowball momentum
Wife says go for it

i cant believe no - one has said this but my older brother works at lidl and that pays £9.00 per hour.
i think its because its that depressing no-one wants to work there.
but thats a good wage i would say.
