Woolwich open plan problem with Barclays

I apologise if this has been mentioned before but felt I had to tell people.
I had an open plan account with the Woolwich. £300 was left in the current a/c and any extra money was `swept` into the `Target Reserve` account. If a DD came along, the extra money needed to cover it was `swept` back into the current account to pay it......no problem.
I had to pay my credit card bill of approx. £1,300 and firstly it wouldn't allow me to pay that amount in one day so I had to split it over 2 days....never had the problem with the Woolwich.
Worse than that I checked my credit card account on-line some time later to discover the £1,000 had never been paid. When I looked at my current account on-line the £1,000 had gone out and then come back. When I rang to find out what had happened, I was told I didn't have enough to cover the bill so it was rejected. I pointed out there was about £2,000 sitting in the `Target Reserve` but the operator told me they couldn't move it into my current account, I had to do that. I duly moved it across to pay the bill.
Barclays never said they were changing the way they operate this account and due to this I now owe £24 interest. I always pay up on time.
A letter has gone off to Barclays and I await their reply and expect them to pay this interest bill.
Anyway be warned Barclays don't automatically move your money across like the Woolwich used to.

Yes as a ex-woolwich and now Barclays customer I have today had a similar transfer problem... I haven't posted about it yet but will do in a few moments.0

As they are putting all woolwich mortgages onto the barclays system due to the constraints of the barclays system you will need to create a separate account to stop having your mortgage current account showing a minus. Bit of a pain ain't it?0

I found out yesterday that they do not take into account how long you banked with the woolwich for your banking history with the woolwich. you are a new barclays customer and thats it!!! this means that you are unable to arrange over drafts etc until you account has been open for appox 6 months!!!!!!!!!!! I am so angry that I am in the process of changing my account might go to nationwide!£2 saver club started 20th Oct £54:j0

Update on this problem.
I went into the local branch and got the operator in there to close the `Target Reserve` account so as this couldn't happen again. I signed lots of bits of paper to that effect.
Two days later I went on-line to discoverd the `Target Reserve` was still showing and the bulk of the money in my current account had been `swept` into it.
This time I emailed the complaint and the next day the `Target Reserve` had by then disappeared and the money transferred back into my current account.
I then received a letter yesterday of apology. There was a phone number to contact so I rang to tell them I had originally written with my original complaint but had no reply. I told the operator I had been charged £26.46 interest because of the way the account worked and she creditted it back to me.
I have just checked on-line and the money is indeed there.0
