  • Enjoyed meatballs, opened jar of sauce and used half so used the other today in veg soup (2 or 3 days worth). Beef and pepper casserole in in SC with a little of said sauce. Probably out for lunch with dd tomorrow so will have soup at evening meal. Made a loaf of bread the other day and have nearly eaten it all. I usually just make dough and then make rolls for freezer but I put on 7 (loaf) instead of 8 (dough) Its nice but I eat it !!!!!!! instead of putting some in freezer.

For lunch I had the final 2 Walls' sausages, the last 20 chips and the final few beans.

The freezer is now .... entirely empty. Nothing whatsoever in it.

I SHOULD ... be defrosting it, but CBA today. I'll do it tomorrow.

Might be interesting to see what is on the 'menu' as such if you've not been to one before, I have not. :) I do eat meat on occasion however I also appreciate a few vegan items too.

I was thinking of having the spinach lasagne but then decided I would be unhealthy and had the "chicken" wings and fries. Lol.

We then went to a vegan gluten-free bakery and I ordered a lemon cupcake and a red velvet cupcake. I had to have a box for the red velvet one to take home as I was too full up.:rotfl:

For tea I used up the second half of the chicken in white sauce can. I cooked the final 3 spuds and mashed them, then topped the chicken with that. I had the remainder of the Morries cheap mushy peas on the side.

I'm pretty much out of food now. Cupboard full of things that aren't a meal... e.g. lots of pastas, rice, packs of custard, stuffing mix, instant spuds. No "meals".

Out of: bread, eggs, cheese, beans, chips.

I'll go shopping tomorrow... bread, eggs, beans .... and "see what I fancy" :)

As it'll be Thursday I MIGHT just hold out a bit longer, so I can justify a takeaway on Friday night :) Chinese I think... s/s chicken balls. I'll make my own chow mein to go with that (maybe).

    Good evening everyone,
Sounds as though some interesting food combinations lie ahead foodwise tomorrow PN if you don't go shopping:)Glad you enjoyed your meal out Wednesday:). (ETA and CG)
Definitely a "bits of" day weather wise here - bits of rain, sun, wind and more rain.... It felt quite mild for a spell this afternoon but it's turning chilly now. I think we've reached the time of year here where unless you have a really hot and sunny day that once it begins to get dark the temperature drops quite dramatically.

I had very domestic day, I swept & mopped the floors then made a good dent in the ironing mountain:D, however I stood a lot so tonight's stove top cooked meal has been adapted to an oven "bung in" of roast chicken thighs, mushrooms, toms and some HM sweet potato wedges from the freezer.
Two portions of lentil soup have been frozen, managed to squeeze them in without too much shuffling :).

I recently became addicted to The Food Network on Freeview - some of the shows I can't stand, but there was a good one tonight in travelogue format that showcased congee & wontons Hong Kong style. I'm really due an outrageous over indulgent, left overs for days take out

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

....congee & wontons Hong Kong style...
I'll now have to Google that as I have absolutely NO idea what it is, what it could possibly look like :)

Something that caught my eye that's furren translates to "crab rice" - and I thought "hmm.... crab flavour... and rice... what's not to like?"

Then I googled a bit more - to discover that the crab flavour comes from mashing up crab roe ... and that grossed me out :)

I'd eat crab rice, using crab meat... not roe though!

EDIT: Googled that... ewwww. Congee sounds horrendous :0

I pickup the smoked Tofoo in W*itrose Caronc I'm lucky as there is a very large one just down the hill from the office :)

It's been a grey day here, enough to for me to decide to stay indoors lunch time. It's now raining but was four or five degrees warmer when I went out at eight than when I drove home at 5.30pm, so maybe the warmer weather will occur for the next few days :). Definitely not blow the gate off weather Caronc :D

Yesterday's chicken laksa for lunch, I wasn't that hungry tonight and have just eaten a cheese omelette.

I'm terrible at cooking rice, so when it comes out a bit soupy I don't mind. I've never had congee, but I don't think I'd turn my nose up
