  • Thanks for recipe. Looks nice - crusty (as I like). Guessing I could substitute sultanas for dried cranberries. My flour I'd use would be wholemeal - but don't suppose that makes any difference.

Thought re it worked out better for you when using scales instead of cups is maybe it's down to you have English size set of cup measures - and they will be using American size set of cup measures??

I've got both sets - but can't actually remember which is which - though I know my actual cup measures (as opposed to spoon type cup measures) must be English - as they came from Aldi iyswim. But I've got 2 other sets of cup measures - so must look it up at some point to establish which of them ain't English.

    Good evening everyone,

Chinese style pork here tonight too pineapple:)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Farway re your key being in the key safe after all. Still it means you still have a spare:)

It's been another cracking day here and quite warm as well. I'd like to say I got lots of gardening done but after having a walk round the block found myself in "wonky donkey" mode so spent most of the afternoon snoozing or reading. There is so much I want to be getting on with but I'm sensible enough to know when it would be foolish to do so.

Pork leg steak has defrosted and I just need to chop some veg and decide if I'm having noodles or rice with it. Lunch was Port Salut cheese :) on crackers with wodges of cucumber, celery, a handful of radishes and a cupasoup.

Money I think you're right about the cup sizes although in theory as long as I used the same size cups it should have worked. I usually prefer grams to cups for baking. The first one I made I added dates to the walnuts and that worked well, but it's all personal taste.

Wort I'm not convinced that the cat is pleased to see me home or if he's after his dinner :rotfl: I do believe my tablet has a silent alarm only heard by cats to let him know when I've entered the passcode :rotfl: I've gotten practised at typing around a cats bum

Bad start to the day there was an unexpected road closure, so it took an hour to travel the last 10 minutes to work, Heart radio didn't mention it, it seems I should have been listening to BBC Sussex as they were telling you to avoid the town :o

Lunch was LO chicken with salad and HM coleslaw. Dinner was a bit cba omelette with veg and new potatoes. LO potatoes to make a potato salad for tomorrow lunch. I may go and have a slice of fruit bread and a cup of tea now :D

I was cream crackered after today, spent all afternoon on the allotment, came back to go buy 9 bags of various slightly alkaline composts as the raspberries are walking away from the raised beds. I need to make the beds more enticing and seeing that they lasted until last week, well they deserve tlc. Buying the bags was one thing, then I took them straight up and had to barrow them, then manhandle and upend. No wonder that my shoulder is aching, plus walked about 12 heavy cans of water from the tap

So now I am thinking about breakfast and I have run out of stuff, only fish portions, a bit of diced turkey and 2 lamb cutlets left. I`ll be glad to get those `instant` foods next week. I have just been and ordered quite a few extras for my wednesday order, I need stir fry stuff, eggs, a couple of mains for my meals. No way am I going to slave over a stove. Plus cheeses and fermented tofu added

Breakfast has to be be baked as I have put frozen mackerel in the fridge, I will put it in foil ready tonight, No other way will do as it stinks through the house if fried, there are a few bits of frozen parsnips and some small frozen tomatoes. I will need to do shredded cabbage with that. That will do for breakfast.

Oh, lunch, another tricky one, I don`t even have garlic or onion in the house. I may well just do a bowl of rice with dried soya, celery and ginger etc. I am scraping the barrel at the moment, don`t know how I have let everything run down so much.Oh yes I have a few leaves left, will put them on the rice, to wilt

I love my spelt toast, so will be looking forward to tea, peanut butter on one and jam on the other. I will be having the usual hemp drink, making sure I get my berries and I have some ice ceam so rhubarb will be nice with that

I saw a programme about really wild cats last night, scratching their owners to smithereens.
  • Think all the cats mentioned on this thread know which side their bread is buttered by the sound of it Kittie:rotfl: - apart from a couple that go swimming in the canal at regular intervals...

breakfast is down the hatch and I feel very full, have all day to digest so that is good. I can`t be thinking of rice at mid-day. It will have to be the likes of a little edamame pasta with a spoonful of capers in olive oil, plus leaves and tomato and a few nuts . So far so good, re eating my main meal at breakfast, it isn`t that easy to think about but will be easier if I plan ahead. My tum seems to like it and I certainly didn`t feel tempted to nibble yesterday, in fact never had mouth hunger at all. Today might be different as I intend to have a rest day, apart from a half hour on my bike

:rotfl: brambling, my alarm beeps as you hit each number on the code, that's enough, to wake him and he jumps out of his bed sounding like a baby elephant, and races down stairs before I've made it into the living room.!

Kittie you are so organised, but I couldn't eat a big meal for breakfast, I don't like a cooked breakfast of any kind. Though I can see it helping re energy levels through the day.
My sister saw the cat programme, and said most of it was the owners fault, as they had let them play with their feet , hands etc as a kitten. I think most normal people 'would realise to direct play with a soft toy or fishing rod type toy. I haven't seen it yet though.

Of to work shortly taking lunch as yesterday, ham salad sandwich and yogurt with seeds.
I've pulled out a ready meal, of Spanish chicken with parmentier potatoes, as I know, I won't want to cook after a full day in work.

    Good morning everyone,

Goodness, it looks as though I'm stalking CFOers , I made chinese pork last night like pineapple and I'm having spanish chicken tonight like wort:)
It's sort of sunny and sort of cloudy here with a bit of drizzle forecast for this afternoon. I'm not sure how much I'll get done today as had a rubbish night though I'm less wonky this morning.
I'm going to cook the spanish chicken in the slow cooker, a "bung it in" rather than a recipe.
Lunch will be a re run of yesterday and I had my usual toast & fruit for breakfast. I couldn't eat my main meal first thing, toast or similiar is about all I can face. I do enjoy a cooked breakfast but tend to have it as a brunch late morning rather than earlier.
My sister is picking up some shopping for me when she does her own this evening. Just milk and a few other fresh bits but it means I can put off getting a "proper" shop until later in the week.:)

I am alert for the buzzer, am cooking pasta made from 95% lentil flour and 5% quinoa. Looks good and will be nice tossed with capers in olive oil, with leaves and tomato.

Eaten it now and will definitely make it again, was delicious and I have another full box of that pasta. Ancient harvest pasta and I see that dolphin fitness sell it, I ordered linwood hemp from them a few days ago and am going to get more of this pasta, its such an easy and tasty way to eat lentils. Ordered and they have the same capers, also ordered and all free delivery :j

oven is on and am making flax/walnut crackers to eat with the likes of cheese. Never made this recipe before and never used the dry vitamix for flax. I must say that I had a wonderful result, not one whole seed left, whereas the coffee grinder I used to use made heavy weather of it. I almost used 200 degrees c then realised it was an american recipe and 200 f is actually 93 c, they will be in for 2 hours I like the fact that I had to soak in warm water so it got thick naturally. Then I spread it out with wet hands. Will crisp it up at the end, cool and break into crisp sizes and will freeze

I am all for having easy healthy stuff ready to eat, I usually don`t eat much meat or fish and that is all I had handy

It's a parallel universe ... looks like there are no pies there.

Breakfast today was half a toasted bread roll, baked beans and sausages, splash of brown sauce.

Lunch was the bottom half of that roll, spread with margarine.
