This TV would certainly be suitable
It is a 1080Pi, therefore it interlaces to give the full resolution of 1920 x 1080
You can find the info on Page 7 of the full user manual0 -

Please assist if you can?
I am considering buying the Samsung PS42Q96HD. However, is there a better product for the money that I should be looking at?
My family don't do sporting events, (sorry all footy fans!), we don't play TV games and all we want to do is watch TV, films, soaps, etc, and this flat screen seems to fit the bill precisely, especially at c.£700 which makes it very attractive, but am I going to regret not paying more for a better set?
I have a Sony 28" CRT which delivers a great picture, but as is the norm these days, the kids want a bigger screen for the lounge!
What about Panasonic, LG, Philips, etc? What to do???0 -
It is 1080i, not 1080p.
You need the Samsung M86 if you want 1080p. Thats a 40" LCD. I recently bought it, and its absolutely mind blowing
To say the least. The the Samsung 42" Plasma is still a great option and a bit cheaper than the M86!
You won't get a better tv for that money no.
If you just watch tv, then the Plasma will do you fine... 1080p only required really for HD consoles and blueray/hd dvd players.....
Go for the Samsung Keith
