Is there any other decent brands other than listed below that I know of:
Kingston
SanDisk
Verbatim
I'm looking at getting a 128GB, I don't want to buy a cheap one from a brand I'm unaware of and it fails or breaks easily, and missing out on any other decent brands..
Thank you

I've got loads of Samsung. All good, no failures.0

+1 for Samsung, they tend to be good value for money as well.0

Always foudn the Kingston datatravels to be fairly solid. Cheap too on amazon0

I use a combination of Samsung and SanDisk.
As important (for me) - if buying from Amazon, make sure the particular model you buy is sold by Amazon (and not a third party seller), so you can guarantee (hopefully) it is not a fake (and therefore liable to dataloss, not actually the size you think you're buying even if it reports itself as 128gb etc).0 -
i'm curious. why do you need 128gb? that's 6 years of my digital content"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

It's way bigger than anything I've got, but I shot 30 seconds of the highest quality video on my camera today and it took up 60MB, so if the OP wants to make their own movie the raw footage is going to take up a lot of space (not that I'd want to keep data on a card anyway).0 -

At home I use about 1.7tb of space for my files. We all have different needs!0 -
I've given up using USB flash drives due to reliability issues (often, though not always, mechanical ones) and I've used most of the major brands at one time or another. The final straw was the failure of a quite expensive Sandisk 128GB. I now use a small external SSD (Transcend) instead which I have found to be faster and, after about a year's use so far, completely reliable.
Although some believe solid state memory isn't prone to wear, it is and SSDs even that wear out. The quality of cells used in a decent SSD is far higher than in most USB sticks. Overall they are just better made.
If data security is a priority, then I'd suggest you look at a small portable SSD instead - they're not even hugely more expense than the 'best' thumb drives.0 -

ALL backup devices will fail; you just don't know when it will happen...0
