Hey, I am wanting to withdraw funds from my ISA account. I called them to ask for a transaction book as i lost the one they gave me when i opened an account. The advisor asked for my sort code but i had no idea what it was. I said ill check my statement and call back. I checked my statements and it doesnt seem to appear on there.
I have my account number obviously, but where the hell do i find my sort code? This is a pretty stupid question but i can't find it, so therefore can't have a transaction book sent to my address.

I just googled sort code for an isa and found HSBC and EGG it might be worth a try as I think each bank/building society has its own code.. so google your bank and ask for the code you might strike it lucky...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

ok basically the sort code is the bank branch where you opened the account.
for example, my account i opened with HSBC was on Desborough in High Wycombe, so I google 'sort code desborough high wycombe', the 3rd item down it gives it, 40-24-38.
obviously sometimes it can be quite hard to find. however, sort codes are always 6 numbers, usually separated each 2.
good luck, and remember, Google is your friend!0 -
Ok i just checked my brances sortcode, and google linked me to the Lloyds TSB page showing my branch sortcode. Now i only go and find out that my branch has two different sort codes! I had a look at other branches sortcodes and they all have one sortcode.
How weird. How am i going to find out which one of the two sortcodes is for my account?0 -

You can't, unless you have online access and can persuade the ISA into that view. And it's not necessarily either of the codes - as some Banks open ISAs under a centralised Sort Code. If you have the account number / balance / answer to security questions .... really can't see why they need you to tell them the Sort Code? If most can Google it - it can't reasonably form part of their security procedureIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
