Lenovo recommendations

I currently use a Dell pc which is 9 years old on Windows 7. Its an intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB memory, hard drive 500GB. I am thinking of buying a new desktop and have been looking at the Lenovo website. I don't do any gaming but want plenty of memory and a speedy computer.

Id like one with a good display for me to work on photos and video and am also thinking of buying good photo editing software if anyone can recommend this too? I like good sound for my music as well. Would you recommend Lenovo or a different brand/retailer? I want it to cost less than £1000 including the monitor.

What's the Service Tag/Express Code on the DELL?

For your needs around £500 should do it. Perhaps £350 for PC and £150 for monitor. Not exact figures, but thereabouts. If you are serious about photography, you might want to spend more on the monitor.

Most people prefer a solid state drive as their boot drive.

Their price seems ok and I believe they're a decent brand? Obviously Im open to other ideas though if anyone can recommend a different brand.

For Photo editing, one goes for colour accuracy. So depends on how serious you are about that.

If you are working with RAW images, you might want at least a half decent 4k monitor, such as; http://www.benq.co.uk/product/monitor/bl2711u/

If just playing around with snapshots, you can pay considerably less.

The DELL Studio 540, depending on the current configuration and your needs, may still be quite capable.
Maxxing out the RAM and fitting an SSD and Graphics card can come in at around £100.

I have a Levono yoga 710 laptop which is excellent but have had HP desktops in the past which seem to be well built.
There is a fault on the pricing of this PC, if you select the version with MS office it gives you the cheaper price of £649.99 instead of £709.99. |Its a I5 processor so should be fast.

But if you intend to work with 4k video and RAW photo images, a new PC may be a better solution for you overall.
