PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Oh crikey! Should I be living in fear of prosecution for my letter opening misdeeds?

If someone's using my address I want to know what they're using it for.

I would have thought suspecting a fraud may occur/be occurring is a legitimate reason for opening mail arriving at your address to someone you don't know.

I applied during this period and got a letter saying that due to the annual update I would not be added until December! It has only now appeared that I am registered on my credit files!!!

The update to credit files is made from the published register and so isn't updated during this period, but had an election been called during that time then you would have found that you were in fact registered to vote.

More mail arriving and no response as yet to telling them to 'go away' with their last minute lower offer.
Even the EA says they are a 'strange couple'.
