Have a dell laptop and assumed the power unit was bust as no power was getting to laptop. Got a new power unit but this still doesn't work (no green light on led). Anyone got any ideas?

Do you get a light on the power supply?
I had the same problem with a dell laptop, turned out the motherboard was broken.Bug? That's not a bug, that's an undocumented feature. :dance:0 -
Someone mentioned that sometimes the CPU has been dislodged and you have to remove the keyboard. Wondering if I'm better just binning it!

This gets more intriguing. If I connect the dead laptop to any power supply or docking station then it blows the power unit.0

Sounds quite serious, its not going to be the CPU dislodged as this would probably not cause that problem.Bug? That's not a bug, that's an undocumented feature. :dance:0

My name is John, and I am a support analyst at Dell headquarters.
If your system is blowing up power supplies, it is likely due to a serious motherboard failure. If you still have a valid service contract, I would recommend contacting our support representatives and explaining the situation.
If your contract is expired, let me know, and we can explore other options.
