Is it possible to find out the reason a person was dismissed from the police?

As the title suggests, how would a person go about obtaining this information, is it even possible?


Google searches reveal national archives, but this was more recent..

    Only if they committed a crime, and the details were reported in the papers.

    Anything else is likely to be protected by data protection laws.

    If they were the subject of an IPCC investigation the report will most likely be on their website.

    Lots of incomplete information on here.


    There is not a tribunal to effect a dismissal.
    Nor does the IPCC dismiss police staff.
    Nor does a criminal conviction provide the reason for dismissal.


    The latter two do give an indication, but the police are still covered by the vast majority of employment laws.
