Defaults and when they are removed?

Hi all,
Just wanting advice on defaults, I've noticed one of my account from 2013 went in to default on 21/03/2013 and was reported each month as being defaulted up to 2015 when I settled it.
Does this mean that all the defaults reported for each month will remain until they each hit the 6 year mark or will the whole thing drop of from the date when it was first reported as defaulted?
Thanks
Michael
