one of the things the Neuro people say is I need lots of head exercise in my rehabilitation and what a good cause this is.

Perhaps you could become a regular. From your signature you appear to have the right mind-set

Wow Never even thought of those

I've added the Gov.UK link for the CC charges in my previous post. Just looking for the stuff about premium rate numbers.

    Found it.

The 0845 number breaches Regulation 41 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. These regulations came from BIS, not Ofcom, and took effect on 13 June 2014. This can be reported to Trading Standards (via the Citizen's Advice national Consumer Helpline on 0345 404 0506).

The omission of call costs from the sign breaches Ofcom regulations that took effect 1 July 2015.

What about a SAR asking how they got my details etc?
At the moment the SAR fee is £10, but come 25th May 2018 it will be free.

    Moneybags!

(Don't waste money on a service not recommended!!)

When you use a tracked service you have no advantage over the free certificate of posting you can get from the post office

But there is a big disadvantage when dealing with slippery customers who can refuse to accept your letter.

Then they can prove they never received it! (Thanks to the info held against the tracking number)

When I was assisting on the Banking/PPI board
of MSE. this type of letter, although much shorter,
was used where idiot debt collectors thought they
had more rights than they actually had, and that
    included "door knocking"
All this is based on trespass.

However, the rabid debt collectors who get
involved in the parking scam are right at the
bottom of the pile when rights are concerned.

Unlike say a bank using debt collectors for
a proven debt, the donkey derby debt collectors
in the parking scam have no proof and act on
    heresay from the PPC

Even the low life debt collectors we see on here
know their place in the pecking order of credibility,
and that is why they will never door knock.

That does not mean that one of the nutters we see
will not try it on. Very remote but they could try
anything if they are desperate to please their masters.
That's when you call the police who will escort
    the vermin off your property.

In a nutshell, debt collectors in the parking scam
are simple timewasters to be ignored making
    no contact with them

  • Grrr another ticket this morning, but this time they damaged the wife's car,to get to the windscreen they squeezed thought and damaged the door mirror, these are electric, and have pushed the motor back with force, now I am really p**sed
We may not win by protesting, but if we don’t protest we will lose.
If we stand up to them, there is always a chance we will win.

Payment line is using a prohibited premium rate number.

Credit card charges are no longer permitted.

I think the automated 'phone payment charge may also be prohibited.

    Trading Standards should be contacted.

Does this make the signs, not fit for purpose, or illegal?

  • Maybe. That doesn't necessarily mean that a court is going to throw out the contractual claim because of the allegedly criminal act associated with it, however. Like the "lack of advertising consent" argument, it is worth including, but I don't think it will be the winner.

Thank you, I can use as another bullet in my gun, it may not hit, but it will make a noise, and prove how Lawless they are

Credit card charges have only just been banned, it’s unrealistic that the millions of signs across the country are going to be updated/edited (usually with black tape!), the instant the law is changed!

Don’t expose yourself as lacking any realism.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask.
