Car insurance renewal query

Hi all

I have almost completed my first year of driving...and I am a little confused with my renewal details.

I want to change insurer (currently have a black box and the time restrictions are inconvenient for me).

My insurance expires on 6th Feb. I’m looking to find a new deal within the next week or so, so that I can better manage my finances in advance and know that it’s sorted.

My question is: can I say I have one years no claims discount? Obviously I won’t have NCD officially until 6th February but will have one year NCD by the time my new insurance starts (providing that I don’t have any accidents of course).

Can I say I have 1 year NCD when I fill out the forms now? I’m confused so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Yes, just put the date you want the insurance to start in the form.

You would simply arrange insurance cover to start on 6th Feb (just double check when your current insurance expires as some are midday and some are midnight)
At that point you would have 1 year NCD.
