LTSB Classic MC transferred to Airmiles Duo - Questions

in Credit cards
Hi,
I just checked my online banking - my application for LTSB Airmiles Duo has been accepted. I clicked on the statement, and what I see is that there is a Balance Transfer of my last month's balance (from the Classic), and some purchases that I have made in the past month.
Incidentally on Monday (yesterday), my direct debit (full payment) left my current account and is shown up on my Classic Mastercard statement. So now my Classic statement is in Credit, with some very recent purchases on it as well.
I haven't received anything by post, I called the LTSB Card Services - they told me my recent payment to the Classic card will be transferred to the Airmiles Duo. I asked her will I be charged any interest during this 'transitional period' - she said no, dont worry.
Is she right?
(I'm just thinking about the clause that Payments will pay off Purchases first before Balance Transfers - now if my outstanding balance on my Classic is considered a Balance Transfer - then my payments will have paid off the recent purchases that I made - leaving me liable for an interest of 6.9% on Balance Transfers - something I dont want to!)
Thanks.

The two cards are aligned so any payments into the old card will show up on the new Duo card.
This also applies to any recurring payments you might have authorised on your old card.0 -
Thanks ejones999. So I will not be expecting to pay any interests right? (I have always paid my monthly bill in full, in the past)0
