Confused. com? I certainly am

Is anyone else concerned to have received an email from Confused.com, automatically offering a range of car insurance quotes prior to renewal date? My concern is that I was able to click into the quotes, straight from the email, without entering any log-in details. When I selected a quote from the AA, I was then directed to what was their site which already contained all my details, then when I linked through to the desired quote (identified as having been obtained from Conused.com), the browser put up the little 'i' sign saying that the site was unsafe. As part of this process, I had changed my permissions to no contact please. Five minutes after doing this, I received a call from Confused.com trying to push a particular quote. I managed to contact them - through saynoto0870- and asked them to delete my account but this has left me feeling very anxious. It seems my data is available to all and sundry through confused.com.

It would only be open to anyone with access to your email ,- they would then need to know about the email containing the link to the part of the website with your quotes
Probably solved by deleting that email.0 -
Yes this concerns me as well. In getting quotes you have not asked for its quite possible several soft searches have been listed on your credit file. I know these soft searches do not mean a black mark, but even so I do not think they should be doing it without your say so.0

They have your say so when you input your details originally and agreed to it.
you have the right to opt out by letting them know.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks for your responses. On other websites I have used, you can click through to the company but then have to enter your log-in details before you can access things like quotes etc. I contacted Confused.com who came back very quickly with a very considerate response. They said they would look into this vulnerability (as I see it) and said the problem with the AA was down to them but that they would contact the AA's communication manager re this. Have since heard from the Aa though not, as yet, with a response. I have also deleted my account with Confused.com till this problem is fixed and found an equally competitive quote by going direct to John Lewis. Which magazine recommended John Lewis, Age UK and the NFU.0

I always use false details including email address and phone number apart from postcode when using comparison websites and a false name with my own dob. This way I can see who the cheapest providers are and then choose who I go with via there own website or topcashback which has served me well over the years.0
