Wowcher Mystery Holidays - Weekender Breaks

I had the same experience. Booked through wowcher to go to dublin and the flight times were hideous. We had to pay for a different flight time etc which added to the cost. Made me so cross. Never again.0

This is the way cheap holidays often work.
They aren't the best departures .
No surprises there.
It's pandering to the lazy.
It's also the way that many other companies operate.
Easyjet and Ryanair, for example.
I'd swear Ryanair would charge you extra to sit down if the CAA didn't mandate you had to be strapped in for takeoff and landing.
It's not that there's anything wrong with modular pricing per se, it's just annoying when you are new to a company and a headline figure of £50 ends up costing £120 (which can easily happen with flights).
With experience I now know exactly how much I'll have to add to the Easyjet headline price for both short and long stays.0 -

I've not flown Ryanair for a while so don't know how their pricing structure works.0 -

I used to use Ryanair for the free flights. I knew exactly what I was getting as I'd practiced using the slightly tricky site, such as the way they hid the insurance add on in a strange place0 -
Wouldn't somebody with experience of Ryanair know exactly how much they'll need to add on to the headline price though?
Indeed, that's why I said: 'when you are new to a company'.I've not flown Ryanair for a while so don't know how their pricing structure works.
The same as EasyJet, but they always seem that little bit more grasping.
For example, last time I used them, the outbound journey was delayed for 50 mins and, being Ryanair, they had booked a gate with no seating whatsoever, so there was an entire planeload of people, some quite old/pregnant/etc, standing for over an hour. No announcements or apologies whatsoever.
The return journey was delayed by 1hr 20 mins and they'd only booked one set of air stairs, so the entire aircraft had to disembark from the front on flimsiest set of stairs I've ever seen. Then they'd book the lowest priority baggage handling so we had to wait over 40 mins for our bags. Again no announcements/explanations or apologies.0 -

But don't they call you to the gate?Isn't there seating nearby0 -

But people use them and other budget airlines because they are cheap ( or at least cheap compared with scheduled airfares ) its a bit like paying Aldi prices but expecting Harrods quality.
I have to laugh when people say " i will never use them again " and think that the airlines will suffer/go bust but the truth is most of them are making more money year on year.:eek:0
