BT Overpayment !!

Having been a BT customer for many years, I agreed to a deal offered by Tiscali (my broadband supplier) after a phone call from them (don't normally). I was astounded to see some months later from my bank statement DIRECT DEBIT LIST that not only was I paying Tiscali for my phone bill now but ALSO BT.
So although I was'nt running up any bills with BT apart from the line rental, they were still taking my previous amount, & HAD NOT ADJUSTED IT DOWN.

After fighting through a lot of button pushing & messages, I was told they have no automatic adjustment system (everybody else has) but they did agree I was £395.00 in credit & to refund it.

This is VERY naughty, you multiply this by millions of customers & maybe keep the excess on deposit, good scam eh!!

the Moral of the story; ALWAYS CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS

maybe in this case the onus falls on you as the customer to contact the company ,explain the situation and sort out the reduction on your direct debit
