Changing supplier.

Could someone give me advice please we are with Scottish power and have a smart metre fitted
can I change supplier even though SP fitted this metre.

    Yeah, though you'll likely find it reverts to being a 'dumb' meter. :)

    It will not work as a smart meter when you change. It will most likely be a Landis and Gyr e 470 electric meter. You may be able to get the current reading from the In House Display (total kwh ) or it will be on the meter itself on the first screen. but some are only using the awful Secure Liberty smart meters and like to fit their own (Eon, Ovo , Utilita )
    Other suppliers have no problem with this meter
    It will revert back to being smart if you find a cheap tariff with Scottish Power in the future and switch back
