  • Don't know how many people will read it all.

1)if they didn't install it correctly you can ask them to do it again - you only need to give them one chance then you can request a price reduction.
Which potentially could be partial (and they remedy it) or full and you give it back.
You need to prove its incorrect if they dispute it.

    2) you can try - gather evidence of your costs. Seeking compensation for mental distress will be very difficult.

    3) have they said why?

    4) yes but you really need to exhaust their complaints process first - send a letter to them outlining what's happened (I'd suggest not the long version you've out here) and what your expectations are, with a reasonable deadline.

Without wanting to be rude, is there a concise version leaving out all
    the irrelevant bits?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I normally don't use my telephone much so only usually rack up about £10 in call charges on top of my quarterly BT line rental. I've racked up almost £100 so far directly as a result of my problems with Currys and most of it has simply been because I have been on hold.
    Thanks.

What number are you calling? KnowHow has an 03 number, which is free from any BT landline (according to BT's website), assuming you're not on the phone for more than an hour at a time.

They are not free, just inclusive of call plans. So if you don't have a plan or are on a paygo mobile they cost.

I have seen a lot of companies move from free number to these since they are free for the majority of people. Unfortunatly is hits those that can't afford it most.

No comment on currys. I would always install myself as I would not trust their idiots to breath if not reminded.

Please do put this in perspective. Yes you have experienced very poor customer service, but at the end of the day its only a washing machine. Feeling suicidal over a washing machine is a bit silly.

Could you try to fix the problem yourself? I see on ebay that you can get levelling spanners for about £15.

I wouldn't bother calling their know-how helpline since you have established that is a waste of time. You could try emailing them or using resolver: https://www.resolver.co.uk/companies/currys-pc-world-complaints/contact-details.

I wonder if you would have better results by rejecting the machine on the grounds that it is faulty (even if it is an installation problem) and demanding a refund, then buying a washing machine elsewhere. The delivery team might be the only people Currys are willing to send to look at the problem.

You don't meed a special spanner to level the feet. Any spanner that fits will do, or use a small narrow long-nose set of pliers.
If the machine still vibrates after being placed (level) on the level part of your floor, then a fault exists with the machine and you'd do far better to contact the manufacturer under their warranty, rather than wasting your time negotiating with DSG: their reputation as the UK's worst retailer was not earned by accident.
Alternatively, reject the machine under CRA while you still have time.
PS: in all that long post, you don't actually tell us the make and model.

Crikey. I’ve had a few washing machines installed and they always need the feet tweaking later, after they’ve settled in after a wash or two. I can’t say I’ve ever used a special tool, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever even used a spanner or pliers either, I just use my fingers! Have you tried doing it yourself? I think it helps to do it mid wash cycle (pause it, obviously) so you can check it’s better. No engineer or installer is paid enough to sit and watch the machine wash! To be honest, I don’t even consider adjusting the feet to perfection part of the install really, as it can’t be perfected straight away, particularly with uneven floors.

the levelling is a 2 minute job and you dont need the "special" spanner
