moving wifi router to the centre of the house

Our master socket is on outerwall of a corner room which is right opposite the rooms and areas where we stay most of the time.This leads to poor wifi signal and dropped connections.Our Master socket as side by side ports
We would like to move the wif router to a central room and hopefully get better connection/signal.
Is there anyway we can do it ourselves and what items do we need to buy for the same?
Ideally we would like to avoid paying for an Openreach engineer for the job.

I was looking to reposition my main phone socket, from digging around on the internet this seems the best way to do it:

It means that you keep the existing socket where it is but don't use it, (or you could get a blanking faceplate) this means that if there's a problem BT are responsible for the wiring up to where the current master socket is. BT you get to put the socket where you want it (but you are responsible for any faults between the two locations. There's not much point in me going into details as the page is very detailed

Just get the wifi homeplugs. A few companies do them now and the work very well.
