Combi Boiler DHW

Hello,

We have a Biasi Riva 28kw combi. Central heating is working fine, gets burning hot super quick. The hot water is fine when the demand is from a tap but not when it’s for shower/bath.

The mixer shower has really started cycling between being hot and cold while in use, the mixer tap isn’t faulty. The bath tap has to be run very slowly for the water to be very hot however the combi boiler is rattaling like mad. It sounds like a tin of nails is in it.

As we are in a hard water area, I am assuming the DHW heat exchanger is scaled up. Is this likely to be the cause? It doesn’t rattle when central heating is on.

Thanks
