House Insurance for Renters

Just wondering if anyone can help me, or has been in a similar situation.
I am looking for House Insurance for rented accomodation. There are 4 of us and we have a joint tenancy agreement. We are all young professionals, working in Education or Charities.
I can only seem to get a quote from Endsleigh and its quite expensive. Has anyone managed to find a quote like this from anyone else?
Thanks in advance
oh and PS: we live near a river - would this affect us?

If you live near a river, you could be on a floodplain and therefore liable to flooding and higher insurance.
I live in a flat, alone admittedly, that is rented and I have home contents cover with More Than - they quoted me £132 and my stuff is covered to the value of £75,000.
Try looking on moneysupermarket.com or another scraper site such as confused.com to find cheaper insurance quotes.

Thanks for your reply, our problem is they only ask for one name on the policy and state that "you should only live there with your family" and we are friends but not family??
I don't think we are on a flood plain, we live off the Thames?Lightbulb Moment April 2006.Pay off All Debts by 31.12.2014.CC1: £5594, CC2: £164, OD1: £200,Total:£59580
