I'm looking to buy the property in the link below, however it has no off street parking, is it feasible to drop the kerb and make a parking space, possibly two?

The house in Kettering (Northampton Council), it's the house with the diamond leaded windows next to the light Blue Toyota, wood picket fence.

Im hoping the tree won't cause a problem and the wooden parking post can be removed.

Your map link doesn't seem to work
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    Sorry, hopefully that works.

I didn't think it was straight forward, looking the Northampton council website is states - reasons for rejection :

Trees: If there is a tree (or trees) in front of your property such that any constructed access would be closer than 1m to the trunk. This is increased to the width of the tree’s canopy if there is an access on the other side of the tree in question.

Entrance and visibility: If sightlines are unobstructed from a height of 1.2m there must be at least 3m of space at the boundary of your property and the highway boundary to form an entrance. If this visibility requirement cannot be reached then a minimum entrance width of 5m is necessary.

Space: There must be an unobstructed space of at least 5m deep by 3m wide within the bounds of your property.

Aren't you going to have a bigger problem with the tree that is right outside? You won't get that removed, and I doubt you have sufficient width on the other side of the tree. (The wooden posts look like they are there to prevent parking on the verge so, if you got a dropped kerb, that would be removed.)

The problem will be getting planning permission, rather than any physical obstacles to doing it.

You don't need planning permission but the work has to be to a set standard any an approved contractor.

Also, there are 10 kerb stones across the property, you only 5 for a dropped kerb so might be enough space even leaving 1m, will be tight.

Have a look further down the road, to where the pickup is parked. To the right when facing the house with the leaded windows

Is it number 43? It looks like that is the number on the bin

There is no way that dropped kerb is 1m from the tree. And that is a pretty impressive angle to get to the house front.

    Shows it could be do-able.

Don't even think of trying to use the parking bay where the blue car is as the lead in to your off road parking, otherwise you will be posting here that someone keeps blocking your entrance.

It would only work the other side of the tree, if there is enough space to meet all the requirements.

You will need permission to cross (and surface it so you can cross) the grass verge area.

Looking along the road, the one left of that house has a dropped curb and surfaced verge but nowhere for a car to go.

I think you should speak to the council. My first reaction is that it doesn't seem feasible but there are several examples in the road which contradict my opinion. However it is possible these were done "illegally" or prior to current regulations

I think that ‘ Parking Bay’is the dropped curb.
Much like this a little further up the road
