Will this internet dongle work on my laptop

Just curious
I have recently been given one of these mobile internet dongles the same model as the link below but a slightly different shape

And wonder if ever needed would it work with the laptop at the top of this post

At the present time it would be a problem, its been loaned out to a friend and he is on the west coast of the USA.

Unless you have a very very very long cable it wont work then.
