Parking fine - not sure what to do

Hi

I’ve used this board before to help win two parking fine cases. However I got one on Christmas Day :( and not sure where I stand. I didn’t pay and didn’t even think of paying as it was a bank holiday.... looking back I feel stupid! I’ve noticed a few unsuccessful popla appeals on the thread. Is it still worth me trying to appeal? It’s an ncp car park owned by Scottish widows I think. I’ve seen it mentioned a few times on here.

Thank you in advance

Of course you should appeal and fight this, read the newbies thread first, and NCP to date have never done court anyway.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand why people make so many of their own assumptions about things these days.

The good old days have gone for ever, we now live in a world of greed, and you pay for everything unless specifically told you don't have to.

I was in Dorset over the new year, the car parks in Bridport gave you two free hours in December from 1PM according to a little sticker on the meter, I photographed it on my phone as I trust no one these days!
  • Thank you! I know I’m usually like you but I don’t know what came over me! Thank you I will go through the process and appeal

    Thank you
  • Hi

So this has gone to POPLA - I have experience dealing with this, however, the POPLA site has changed since I last appealed and know I don't know which box to select on the site.

The only ones that apply to me are

The amount requested on the parking charge notice is not correct.

    or

    Other grounds for appeal
Appeals based solely on the following grounds for appeal are less likely to be successful

Can you point me in the right direction please?

    Thank you

I've read conflicting info on here to say if you go down the popla route with these guys. However on the rejection letter they gave me a popla code so assume I can.

    Thank you

    Choose Other grounds for appeal.
The next line is an unsubstantiated untruth.

What are paras 18.3 and 18.4 doing in section 1)?
What do the numbers '18.3' and '18.4' refer to?

Your 4. title should be No Keeper Liability.
That title is missing from the start of section 4.

Why have you mentioned 'Smart Parking' in section 4?
  • fantastic thank you :)

Your signage point is far too short. You should replace it with the long template point available to you in Post 3 of the NEWBIES.

Your keeper liability point needs to state where the NTK failed to meet the very strict requirements of the POFA 2012.

  • Wow, do I include the whole of post 3 or just one section? 15+ paragraphs?

    Thank you

By reading the heading to that signage section you should be able to work out the answer to your question:
Signage (I deliberately go to town in this section, don't cut it down!):
    ;)
