Possible Transmission Issue

I've got a issue that I've so far had twice, over the course of a week.
A few weeks ago I accelerated hard in first gear to join a roundabout.
When I came to a standstill and tried to put it into neural the gear would not come out; I had to use a little force and managed to free the gear.
I thought no more of it.
But a few days ago it happended again, in reverse this time.
I couldn't this time force it, I tried but there was too much resistance.
So I forced the car to stall by letting the clutch out.
Soon as the engine was off, the gear freed and I started it and it was fine again.
I was told by previous owner it had a new clutch a few years ago.
Now I know the car has a dual mass flywheel and it's a 6 speed box.
There's no slip, and no noise from the clutch or box itself.
Any ideas? I'm concerned that as it's happened twice now it may be a problem in future

It sounds like the clutch isn't fully disengaging.
It might be simple. If its a cable clutch it might just need adjusting. If hydraulic, it might be low on fluid.0 -

One thought try starting car in gear with clutch depressed on a level surface with out any chance of it hitting anything start the car and see if it creeps forward with clutch still disengaged and handbrake off obviously0

You forced it to stall by letting the clutch out rather than err just turning the ignition key to OFF?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
