Help needed with Rundll message

Hi all
Does any "computer" person know how to get rid of the following please?
Error loading C:\ProgramFiles\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll
The specified module could not be found.

It looks a bit important as there is a red button with a cross on it!!

Any help, in simple, non tech. terms would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Have look on this site //www.iamnotageek.com/a/245-p1.php

It gives a step-by-step guide as to how to get rid of WildTangent from your system.

By the sounds of it, have you installed or uninstalled a game recently that has the ability to connect to the web?

Google helps with these messages ;)

Unfortunately, there is no easy non-tech way to correct this. But there are full instructions and a removal tool from PC Hell HERE

    Perhaps this will help

    There's an automatic removal tool.

It's trying to load this program at start up and I guess it's been removed from your system but it's still looking for it. See the Hijackthis thing on the above page.

Edit - good grief 3 other replies while I was writing that. What a helpful lot we are.

  • Lizweb20 - may I suggest that you run a couple of online anti virus/security scans - there are plenty listed within this forum.

Once clean in may be worth turning off system restore to clear back ups and then back on again. Doing this will wipe previous restore points but that advantage is that from this point on if you have to restore you will not be re installing the wildtangent thing.
