I've just spoken to the Paralegal for a US/UK immigration solicitor. They've suggested putting in a FOIA request and then potentially applying for a B1/B2 visa if needed.
Trying to get on the foia.gov website but it's not loading, typical.

To be fair the terms of the ESTA are such that that could happen to anybody regardless of any prior events.

Yes Irealise that, but my answer was directed at the OP who has specificaly stated there may be a problem

I'm amazed at how hard it is to seemingly find any information that might help me! Not even sure what agency I'd try and contact to make a FOIA request

I sent off my application for an ESTA today. Any idea who would be the best point of contact to find out whether there is an immigration issue I should know about?

I'm trying to find any public records about my parents now to see if anything comes up. I'm rubbish at geneology stuff...

If you returned to UK at age 11 then surely state yes if they ask have you been before and no to any questions regarding issues?

If both parents deceased then surely there will be no issues relating to you unless you specifically caused a problem? I would think if any problems then they will be 'logged' against your parents.

From what I've been told, being a minor doesn't make any difference if there's some kind of immigration issue, such as if they overstayed or were kicked out for some other official reason other than them just leaving when their visa ran out.

Here's the information you need, select Department of Homeland Security and US Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the contact details are there. You'll need to supply some identification before they can release records about yourself.
