  • Well that's a rubbish map but it gives a jist of the midlands.. I'm only down the road from brum (near Stafford to be precise) so you can count me and Ste in... that's if the indiscretions of the last meet have been forgiven.... ;)

Weller, I wont be driving hun, because:

    a) I have no sense of direction and we would end up in Glasgow, and
    b) I am the world's worst driver and I would most likely crash on the way to Glasgow

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

However, we could meet up and travel down together (likewise anyone else who lives in the Leeds-ish area).
I have a kitten scratched sofa you're welcome to for the night.. just be warned that there's no sleeping in past 7.30 as Ash will come down and poke you in the eyes, especially if you're lying on the tv remote...:rotfl:

  • okey dokey, starter for 10.

    Saturday 12 January

Travelodge Maypole and Oldbury have £26 rooms available

    Saturday 19th January

Travelodge Maypole and also Oldbury have rooms at the moment for £26. The others are £66

    Saturday 26 January

Travelodge Yardley, Fort Dunlop, Maypole and Oldbury have £26 rooms available

However.............they all seem in the middle of nowhere (unless GingerSte you know that they have a lively nightlife nearby!!).......

The Birmingham Central at Broad St is around £66 per night any weekend in January.

Might be worth looking at other hotels??

I've popped those dates in my diary already!

IA is that map right? (Geography wasn't my strongest subject at school) but I'm now thinking that I can fit in a visit to the family in Doncaster and Nottingham on the way down and ... isn't Cadbury's/Bourneville somewhere near birmingham??? Maybe a detour there on the way back. I'd be tempted to drive from Leeds, but not sure my little fiat would cope on such a long distance. Will the train tickets be released in the next couple of weeks for January?
