Are We Having Another DFW Meet?

Ive heard mention that there will be another one sometime in the new year. Who's organising it and where is it going to be? I'm desperate to meet everyone!

  • Do you mean a meeting?

Sorry to moan but I really dislike the current trend of calling a meeting a meet!

Yep, I'd like to meet everyone - but no chance of the north, I could cope with the Midlands (just about) for a day out, went to Leicester once for the day (the Space Centre, don't laugh!). Is London too expensive for a meet?

Very well thank you pania. Ive not been on here as much as would like lately. How are you doing? I think Ive the Midlands banded about and even though I'm in Scotland it would suit me.

Last time we had a vote. But someone would have to take charge of organising it. But by organising it would only mean arranging a place to meet, delgating tasks to recce the area for things to do and maybe if an overnight stay is involved, canvas the area for cheap B+Bs.

Since the noun 'meet' is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary and has specific reference to a 'gathering' such as that associated with a 'hunt', whilst 'meeting' is listed as a noun 'in the sense of 'meet', thereby indicating that 'meet' has been in use as a noun longer than the word 'meeting', I think I'll settle for a 'p1ss-up' if one were to be proposed.
Seriously, though, it has only been the lack of funds that has prevented me from attending either the 'Blackpool Meet' or the 'BCSC Meeting'.
I will see how your proposal develops, lenny, and, if circumstances allow, I would LOVE to be included.

"Meeting" makes me think of boardrooms, suits & copious amounts of boredom. "P!ss-up" sounds much better (and probably much more accurate :D)

I've been to the space centre in leicester - cracking day out (and I don't have kids :o)
