Ive heard mention that there will be another one sometime in the new year. Who's organising it and where is it going to be? I'm desperate to meet everyone!

Do you mean a meeting?
Sorry to moan but I really dislike the current trend of calling a meeting a meet!

So I'm not gonna meet you at the meet then? Its a get together/p!ss up if the previous one in Blackpool was anything to go by!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yep, I'd like to meet everyone - but no chance of the north, I could cope with the Midlands (just about) for a day out, went to Leicester once for the day (the Space Centre, don't laugh!). Is London too expensive for a meet?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Last time we had a vote. But someone would have to take charge of organising it. But by organising it would only mean arranging a place to meet, delgating tasks to recce the area for things to do and maybe if an overnight stay is involved, canvas the area for cheap B+Bs.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. blimey!! way up norf!!! Scotland is gorgeous but would be more a week away combined with a DFW meet!! (i'm fine thanks Lenny, "I'm getting there anyway" i think my mum used to say!!!
Leicestershire is lovely karma, no need for us to laugh, any other ideas people?debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Since the noun 'meet' is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary and has specific reference to a 'gathering' such as that associated with a 'hunt', whilst 'meeting' is listed as a noun 'in the sense of 'meet', thereby indicating that 'meet' has been in use as a noun longer than the word 'meeting', I think I'll settle for a 'p1ss-up' if one were to be proposed. :rolleyes:
Seriously, though, it has only been the lack of funds that has prevented me from attending either the 'Blackpool Meet' or the 'BCSC Meeting'.
I will see how your proposal develops, lenny, and, if circumstances allow, I would LOVE to be included.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

"Meeting" makes me think of boardrooms, suits & copious amounts of boredom. "P!ss-up" sounds much better (and probably much more accurate
)
I've been to the space centre in leicester - cracking day out (and I don't have kids)

Joking apart, leicester is a very good place for a night out, loads of good bars and pubs and(shhh) a minty chargy animal club to for the men!!! ( if you catch ma drift!) lots of lovely countryside for a ramble to, if you are so inclined!! he he. xxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0
