Need help!!!! Choosing my second car!!!’

I have got a golf mk5 90bhp as my first car and am selling it as I got a week left on my insurance. Am looking to upgrade to something less dull and has more power. My budget is around 13k given am going to do finance:
My options that am looking at are:
1- Audi A3 14-15-16 plate (maybe the 1.4 tfsi engine with the 150bhp) I heard it’s a great engine and has better performance than the 2.0 diesel one.
2- Merc A class 13-14-15 plate (maybe A200 because the A180 performance is not that good for a merc)
3- or like a golf GT mk7 which has a horsepower of 158 and the performance is just something else.
So my question is what do you think is the best car out of all of these given the performance as the most important thing and then the interior and the exterior!!!!

Ask three different people and you may get one vote for each car. The answer is subjective.

Get like a Golf. Its got 158 horsepowers and the performance is just something else so it must be the best.

Have you also checked whether you can finance the insurance?

You might be surprised how a badge like GT will affect insurance, especially as it is marketing targeting people fixated on performance for a car to be used on public roads where that performance is of next to no use aside for collecting points and worse.

By all means have the enjoyment of driving a more responsive car, but if you are fixating on outright speed, you are buying a car in the wrong country. There are lots of other features to cars that can make them a better driver's car.

Before you put every last penny into a performance car, you should at least consider where it is you think you are going to be able to use this performance. If the answer is just driving around and about, then you are just going to end up frustrated (more than the rest of us!).
