    We will think about that.

Right now is our concern about making sure Stacey's care is not affected then we will visit the best way for us to contact the MP.

First thing im bringing Stacey back to where she grew up in Devon this coming week to give her a break from all of this.

Stacey tried to contact the equality rights people today and they tried to tell her the a car park does not fall under the rules for reason adjustments.

    Excuse me while I screeeeeam!!!!!

Who the heck said that? Name and shame, please John/Stacey!

    Let me get this right...

Someone at the EHRC thinks that the Equality Act 2010 statutory duty on Service Providers to make 'reasonable adjustments' does not apply to services & contractual terms offered in car parks?!

EHRC said to me and i be persisted what they say. That the Equality act do NOT count on parking and/or Priavte Land.

They are hopelessly wrong. I am horrified beyond belief that they cannot see that parking firms must adhere to this statutory code for service providers:

    https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/publication-download/services-public-functions-and-associations-statutory-code-practice

I realise a supermarket car park is a bit different than residential private land, but even the press knew this, eight years ago before the Equality Act was enacted, when it used to be the DDA:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8488737.stm

The fact is a parking firm on site is 'a service provider' in a public-facing location (and it is 'public facing' because carers and visitors use the site, not just the residents alone, it's not a closed site).

They MUST comply with the requirement to make reasonable adjustments.

Stacey, you are most definitely not stupid. You are a very strong, brave, and clever woman. :T:T:T

The parking scammers have picked on the wrong woman to mess with!
