Gemgem - if they matched what I'd already got, were in good condition and not something I'd see very often - yes!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Just looked on "China search' they are trying to sell one plate for £8, a bowl for around the same price and the serving bowl for nearly £20. It dates from the 1960's.
Hubby is going to walk into town for me and go and buy them. Hopefully they won't have gone. (We paid no more than £2 for the six plates).2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Which books did you get today VfM? I normally get the books I have to read for uni from the library because they don't often turn up in charity shops, but mum bought me a pristine copy of Milton's 'Paradise Lost'. I think I'm going to write about it for the essay at the end of the semester0

Ploppy57, I agree. Mantaray has this seaside chic aesthetic that I really love. (Sorry- I don't know how to quote messages on my phone )
To everyone, what brands do you tend to look out for the most in a charity shop?0 -

My best buy as a student was the Riverside Chaucer (massive brick of a book, £15 new) for 50p. You might be surprised at the literary classics available in your town library, as well as university library. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
Happy/sad trip to Otley this afty. Found a b/n M & S pure silk chiffon smocky top with jewelled neckline in shades of dusty pink....£1 in AgeUK.:) Then saw elderly woman knocked down by car in main street. All roads closed off and had to wait over an hour for a bus home. Since heard poor woman has serious but not life threatening injuries0

I like to look out for Per Una, Joe Brown's, Next, or anything that I can't get cheaply elsewhere. In other words, I won't buy P/Mark, Asda, from a CS.
Off to a do a quick squiz round the CS's in the next town tomorrow, before my hair appointment. We only have 1 in our village...AgeUK, but in the next village is a great dog charity one and in the town about 3 miles away there are sooo many to choose from...AgeUK x 2, Loros, BHF, CR, Air Ambulance, PDSA and a local one for homeless people....they have a furniture shop as well as a clothes one. Can easily pass a couple of hours there.:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
