PollyPenny, the group is an Open Mic event for poets, writers and singers called Blackfriars Vocal. It is run by a husband and wife team for anyone that wants to participate or just watch the participants perform. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly.

What is your Poetry Group like? How often do you run it?

U3A group, once a month. We take turns to present a poet with 8 or poems to read and discuss.

We range from Byron to Lemn Sissy.

    Hi PollyPenny,

I must confess that I had to google U3A to find out what they were all about. I really believe in everyone being a lifelong learner, so this sounds ideal. :D

    I agree.

Learning doesnt have to be in a formal classroom setting. It can be poetry nights, reading a book, visiting a Museum, trying a new recipe or growing a garden.
