Ford Motor Credit

I have 2 very old loan agreements with Ford Motor Credit 1997 and 2000. I have contacted them directly and they claim to have no record of either. I responded by sending copies of the agreements clearly showing Credit Protection and PPI along with the policy numbers/copy policy. They have now responded saying they are not responsible it was the Garage/Insurance company who is at fault. I have contacted the insurance company by phone Aviva (was Norwich Union) they claim they are not responsible it is down to the garage and their employees who sold the policy as they only underwrite such policies. I have spoken to the Ombudsman and they say they are unable to help me because it was taken out before 2005. One of the ford fanchise garages no longer exists?

    To be honest, give up.
The seller would be responsible, but they weren't regulated, so have no liability.
If you could find someone to take responsibility, what would be your reason for complaint?

That is correct. It is the seller that has liability for the sale.

Also correct. Aviva didnt sell it to you.

    Correct again.

    You give up.

The car dealer has responsibility for the sale. Car dealers were not regulated until 2005. So, they can automatically reject pre-2005 complaints. The car dealer no longer exists and in that scenario, the FSCS would normally apply. However, they will only consider post regulation sales from 2005.

You have no-one to complain to but have been going to all the wrong places.
