Postgraduate Bank Accounts

Hi,

I currently already have a graduate account which i opened after completing my undergraduate degree. I have since gone on to complete a postgraduate degree this year. However this has not allowed me to climb out of the overdraft of my graduate account, which loses its 0% overdraft facility this summer. Would I be eligible to open a new graduate account with a different bank with my new postgraduate degree, as long as I closed my original graduate account and transferred my overdraft debt to my new graduate account? I do have a job that pays me just over £1000 per 4 weeks.

Yeap, you should be fine doing that. Just make an appointment and arrange a graduate account switch. Been told today in Barclays that its very rare that people do that, but they do. Always best to go to the bank branch and just ask, they will be happy to help and have a new customer.

It may depend on how long is left on your course. I tried to switch grad accounts but as I have less than 18 months less on my course I wasn't able to.
